“ We met a friend for breakfast on our way out of town. She described the food as good. A lady in line told us she ate there every Sunday and ordered the same breakfast of eggs and beans. Claimed the flour tortillas were the best. I disagreed with my friend that the food was good, it was excellent!!!! And the four tortillas lived up to their reputation. I'm glad the server discouraged me from getting corn tortillas. The young gentleman checked on our table several times and our coffee was refilled several times. The restaurant was clean and had a fresh look to it. Loved the experience and have recommended to my siblings who live in Dallas. ”
“ Only thing that kept from 5 stars was their "Incomplete parties will not be seated" . That's a joke. The wait time for everyone would have been a lot shorter if they hadn't have sat the incomplete parties. A couple were parties of 5 where only 2 people were there and the rest of the party did not show up for another 10-15 minutes.. When finally got seated, service was great and food was great! Flour tortillas tasted a little different, not fully cooked, but all rest was delicious. ”
“ Great food and decent service and prices. Unfortunately they are too far away from me so I am unable to frequent them. ”
“ Food was good. Crispy beef taco was loaded and the meat was seasoned well. The burrito tejano was also really good. The sauce on top tasted comforting. Their tortillas and chips here are really good! Service was quick and enjoyable. Very family style atmosphere! The prices were affordable. Overall, a genuinely good place to have dinner. ”
“ Oh my goodness!!! Bien Rico!! The food was so delicious. The tortillas were amazing and our waitress Maria was wonderful!!! ”
“ Gonzales is a long time favorite for TexMex when in Dallas. Going to Oak Cliff brings family memories rushing back. Their homemade tortillas are legendary! Their margaritas are good. And often you will see extended families all dining together. Best part - they serve breakfast all day long! ”
“ I'm a fifth generation south Texan (but haven't lived in TX for over a decade). The Mexican food I grew up on is my favorite and usually only found between San Antonio and Corpus Christi. I was in Dallas for a trade show and was craving good Mexican. I found Gonzalez on Yelp and saw photos of the tortillas and knew I had to try this place. The inside is cozy and not fancy. The service was great from start to finish. The menu had a vast array of Mexican food offerings so I opted for an old favorite, cheese enchiladas and tamales. OH MY GOSH! The food was FANTASTIC!!!!! The flour tortillas are just like I grew up eating but haven't been able to find for the last 25 years! (And when I asked for a side of butter, they brought out a pat of butter without thinking twice)! If you're looking for a true Tex-Mex experience, this is the place!! ”
“ My fav breakfast food is the menudo. I love that they give you the option of a small or a large. This is a small. Sometimes I run into the issue of menudo being too greasy but here, it has never been an issue. They also have posole/hominy in their menudo. ”
